Netherbyres House – stylish new venue near the Coast
Netherbyres House is a new wedding venue I discovered last October. Such a unique gem!
When Helen & Alex enquiried about wedding photography at Netherbyres, I had a look at the venue and liked it straightaway. Netherbyres House is a Victorian mansion with beautiful grounds. As soon as you enter the venue you can see beautiful modern spaces created by it’s friendly owners.
The entrance hall
I loved it as soon as I saw it. Especially the wallpaper! It was raining on the wedding day so I used this space for bridal party photos and bride & groom shoot.
The Lounge & Bar area
My favourite room at Netherbyres. Quirky and stylish!
The Grand Hall
The hall with the grand staircase can accommodate around 70 guests for a wedding ceremony and a meal.
Bedrooms
Tastefully decorate rooms with plenty of light, lots of plants and cute wallpaper!
The Grounds
Extensive grounds provide plenty of options for married couple photos. I didn’t have a chance to explore it fully as it was raining that day. Yes, it was raining at Helen & Alex’s wedding but we managed to get outside for a few photos under trees. I always try to use natural light as much as possible.
Helen + Alex
And finally, wedding photos at the Netherbyres House.
Helen was wearing Eva Lendel’s modern bridal dress with blue shoes she kept from her school prom. The floral arch was made by Jacquline Mansfield, one of the bridesmaids mum, who owns a local business, Fleurs de Jacque. The ceremony took place in the Grand Hall. As it was raining, everyone was staying for the drinks in the lounge. After a meal we managed to take some photos outside and there was pizza and fire in the evening. Although not big in size, the Grand Hall makes an amazing dancing floor.

How to choose a wedding venue
Can’t decide on a wedding venue? Choosing a wedding venue can be one the most difficult decisions but Netherbyres House sounds like a great choice:
- stylish, modern and unique decor – different than any other venue!
- beautiful grounds with plenty of options
- on-site accommodation for a wedding couple
- friendly hospitable owners !
And if you are travelling from far, make sure to stay a few extra days to explore the area around Eyemouth. There are many beauty spots nearby. If you are happy to travel, these two would make a stunning backdrop for wedding photos:
- Coldingham Bay – sheltered sandy beach with colourful beach huts. The beach is great for surfing, there is Surf Shop & School with board hire, a cafe and toilets. Parking gets busy so I recommend arriving early.
- St Abbs – St Abbs is a fishing village with rugged coastline and beautiful harbour. From the harbour you can take walks in the National Nature Reserve.
