Rainy wedding day – Scottish elopements
Jessica & Miles travelled from the US with a plan to get married in Edinburgh. They chose to have wedding ceremony in the City Chambers . It turned out to be a good decision when storm Ali hit Scotland later that day.
One thing to keep in mind when weather is a concern: please book a nice room for bridal preparations. Idealy one thas enough space and lots of natural light for creating beautiful portraits. Jessica & Miles were getting ready at the Witchery, charming boutique hotel on the Royal Mile with unique suites.
This part of the Old Town offers lots of good spots to stop by and explore. We took a few photos at Riddle’s Court – beautiful yellow courtyard house, which was recently converted into a wedding venue. It is very striking building. I can’t believe I have never seen it before despite living in Edinburgh for over 10 years!
The ceremony was very intimate. If you’ve ever wondered where to find witnesses for your elopement there is a simple solution, just grab them from the street. Lovely Australian couple was happy to witness the marriage.
We took a few photos indoors and on the Royal Mile and decided to visit Holyrood Park for a view of Arthur’s Seat. Just as we arrived, we got surprised by the storm . I haven’t managed to take many photos. But the ones we got perfectly describe Jessica and Miles’ love for adventure as they were off to walk West Highland Way the next day . I loved their idea of honeymooning !
Rainy or sunny – every elopement is an adventure.
