Murthly Estate – woodland wedding ceremony
When I heard about Mila & Christy’s plans, I knew their wedding will be amazing. Mila, originally from Brazil, has met her future husband in Scotland and they decided to travel to Perthshire where Christy’s family lives.
I didn’t know Murtly Estate then so went to visit on the way back from my camping trip. It was really impressive and wedding photographer’s dream venue. The castle, stunning grounds and beautiful woodland – everything in one place not far from another. Perthshire is one of my favourite places in Scotland so I was really happy discovering this new amazing wedding venue.

The couple has put lot of creative ideas in planning their beautiful day, from lovely designed wedding invitations made by Emmy Design to including some Brazilian wedding traditions like throwing St Anthony’s bouquet.
The wedding took place in August; the day was warm and dry. Humanist wedding ceremony was the first one being held under the tall ancient trees. Mila & Christy walked down the aisle together; the bride looked beautiful wearing Watters dress with softly flowing skirt and a floral crown. There were a few readings in Portuguese too and the couple finished their vows with handfasting.
We’ve had a lot ideas for wedding photos at Murthly Estate. Together with assisting photographer Ingrid we took so many photos of this beautiful couple – the venue is a dream photoshoot location. The dancing was my favourite part; the guests from Brazil were really enjoying Scottish ceilidh. There were three wedding bands playing , one of them was groom’s dad singing and playing with his band Running with Scissors.
I love international weddings and this day will stay in my memory for long.
