Culzean Castle wedding
From my last year’s visit to the west coast. Melanie & Cody, both from Utah, had a destination wedding at Culzean Castle in Scotland. Melanie, having family member living on castle’s premises, used to spend her holidays here as a child. It was clear one day she is going to marry her future husband at Culzean.
Culzean Castle is an outdoor wedding venue with beautiful gardens, beaches, forests. Wedding ceremonies take place on the lawn, in front of the orangery, or inside the castle. There are several rooms to choose from – Camellia House or the Oval Staircase.
The castle, managed by National Trust of Scotland, is located near the cliffs in Ayrshire. It’s dramatic coastline makes it a special place for a fairytale wedding. No wonder that so many couples travel far from abroad to have a destination wedding in Scotland. Although it is open for public, extensive grounds make it seems like an exclusive venue.
Melanie & Cody
Melanie chose sleeveless dress with a lace top from Maggie Sottero while Cody and his groomsmen decided to wear a kilt for the first time in their life.
The couple held their wedding ceremony outside, in front of the floral arch. All the guests from the US were impressed with the location and Scottish hospitality. The weather didn’t disappoint too, it was a glorious day with some clouds and light wind. It was my last destination wedding before the pandemic and a memorable one.
