Edinburgh wedding photographer

natural and relaxed wedding photography in Scotland

Hello, I’m Anna – a documentary wedding photographer based in Edinburgh. I’ve been photographing weddings and elopements across Scotland and the UK since 2012, capturing couples in incredible locations – from historic city venues to remote Highland landscapes.

My approach is all about storytelling – documenting the day as it unfolds with minimal interference. My style blends natural, portraits, real moments and genuine emotions. I work with both, digital and analogue cameras to create timeless wedding photos that feel real and will last for decades. Film photography brings a sense of nostalgia – imperfect yet beautiful – and I love how it adds depth and warmth to my work. In the end, it’s not about the perfect shot but memories that take you right back to that moment. As a documentary wedding photographer I focus on capturing not just how your day looked, but how it felt.

We choose Anna, because we wanted a contemporary documentary style of photography, which didn’t look or feel stuffy or forced and her creative skills matched our preferences perfectly. We have received lots of compliments about the style of the photos and how well they captured special moments between us as a couple, but also the light and landscape of Edinburgh.

Traveling to another country for an elopement can be kind of daunting, and Anna made it truly painless. She worked with us every step of the way, and she went above and beyond to ensure we knew where to go, what to expect and suggested locations and such based on her knowledge of the country and area. Not only was she our guiding star, but we could not be happier with the photos!! They were amazing, and she really worked us into the landscape to make it look natural that i should be wearing a wedding dress on a cliffside.

My partner and I both prefer to be behind the camera. Anna completely took this on board with her candid unobtrusive style on the day.
The weather was pretty overcast and our venue was also very dark so Anna had her work cut out for her. You definitely wouldn’t know that she faced these challenges from the photos!
