I’ve wanted to visit Harvest Moon Holidays  for a long time so when David & Chloe asked me to take their wedding photos I finally got the chance. This glamping site near Dunbar in East Lothian is a perfect place for having a relaxed festival style wedding. Not only it is located next to the sea where you can have a wedding ceremony on a beach, but there is plenty of accommodation available so once the dancing is finished you can enjoy a campfire with the guests.

Safari tents are located close to the beach and there is a marquee. It is is perfect for summer weddings. Treehouse site is a short drive away and hidden among trees. If I had to choose, safari tents would be my first option for glamping accommodation at a festival wedding. These tents have everything you need to spend a few days away and near the sea.

Chloe & David’s wedding day

It was the first Saturday of September and a gorgeous day at Harvest Moon. Wedding photographers agree that this is the best month to get married. Golden hour falls between the end of a meal and 1st dance and is a great opportunity to get out and take some sunset wedding photos. Although the summer is nearly gone, days are still warm and sunny.

Chloe and her bridesmaids were getting ready in the treehouse doing their own make-up while the boys were preparing in the honeymoon tent. The bride chose Johanna Hehir lace wedding dress and bridemsaids were wearing light gold sequin maxi dresses. These dresses looked beautiful with colourful flower bouquets. Once the guests arrived at the Harvest Moon wedding site, they took a short stroll to the beach where the ceremony was taking place. This sandy beach with some chairs, straw bales and an arch overlooking the sea was one of the best wedding locations I’ve seen.

After the ceremony everyone followed the piper to the marquee beautifully decorated by the couple. The colourful paper cranes were made by bride and groom and some of their family and friends. It is so useful to have diy skills when planning a festival wedding!
