High Wards Hindu Wedding at Loch Lomond | Frances + Adi
High Wards Loch Lomond – Scottish wedding venues
Whenever I photograph a wedding at Loch Lomond it feels like I am visiting the area for the first time. I have worked at a few venues at the Loch Lomond – The Cruin, Loch Lomond Arms and Cameron House, and High Wards Estate is definitely one of best.
High Wards Estate
High Wards Estate is settled in a great hidden location overlooking nature reserve. Big house with lovely gardens and Ben Lomond in the background provide amazing backdrop for wedding photos at Loch Lomond. This was first time I was visiting High Wards and I was impressed; not only because it is a beautiful wedding venue but also the owners were really welcoming and hospitable.
Hindu wedding at High Wards
Frances and Adi had their hindu wedding ceremony a week before Scottish celebrations. When I arrived at High Wards Estate I could still see henna on girls’ hands. Mehndi is a traditional Indian event of applying henna patterns. Frances and her bridesmaids, all looking amazing in dressing gowns, were doing their own hair and make-up. Frances chose bridal dress with bride and groom’s initials and the wedding date stitched into the dress. I’ve seen Hermione de Paula bridal dress before, my other bride also called Frances was wearing it for her Colstoun House wedding.
It was sunny and hot but with a little breeze. The ceremony took place outdoors under the oak frame gazebo providing some shade. Every wedding photographer really appreciates a bit of shade on sunny days like this; the light can be pretty harsh between noon and early afternoon. The guests were enjoying the weather too, having drinks outside and relaxing in the sun.
It was a long summer day, a perfect one for wedding photos at Loch Lomond!
