Isle of Skye elopement – road trip in Scotland

I am always coming back to the Isle of Skye with excitement. I’ve made beautiful memories on the island and I try to visit at least once a year. The long drive to Skye is a perfect opportunity to re-visit those beautiful places in Scotland like Glencoe or Glen Shiel.

Skye weddings

Morgan & Dylan travelled from the USA to do their wedding vows in Scotland. The couple have spent only 24 hrs on the island and Skye welcomed them with a beautiful sunshine. They stayed in a cottage on a west coast, near Neist Point which they have chosen for a ceremony location.  Surrounded by dramatic cliffs, Morgan & Dylan exchanged the vows in one of the most scenic wedding locations in Scotland.

Isle of Skye elopement – where to get married

Many couples when enquiring about photographing their Isle of Skye elopement ask me about best locations for a wedding ceremony in Skye. These are my favourite :

Neist Point

the Quiraing

Old Man of Storr

Sligachan

Loch Coruisk

When to get married

Summer and Autumn are my favourite months for visiting Isle of Skye. I’ve spent a week during Easter once and the weather was quite nice apart from one day. Winter in Skye can be rainy and windy and I would say it is risky to plan for a wedding ceremony. Although it is not entirely bad idea providing you have a plan B.
