An autumn micro wedding in Edinburgh
Meg and Nick from the US, chose Scotland for their dream destination wedding.
A micro wedding in Edinburgh is always a good idea, and this West Virginia couple made it unforgettable with their celebration at the Royal Botanic Garden last October. With just 12 guests who all travelled from the US, the day was all about family, love and connection. The garden’s lush greenery and peaceful atmosphere created the perfect backdrop for their vows which took place at John Muir Grove and were officiated by Sandy Caldwell, a humanist celebrant.
The couple kept things simple yet meaningful, focusing on the people and moments that mattered most. As their Edinburgh wedding photographer I captured every detail, from the getting ready shots at the Tigerlilly hotel, to the emotional ceremony and a reception at the John Hope Getaway. We also took a short walk to the Vennel for some moody, misty photos. The images are a perfect mix of natural light, vibrant landscape, and candid moments with loved ones.
For anyone planning a wedding in Scotland, this day was proof that you don’t need a big guest list to make an impact. The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh offered the perfect blend of intimacy and beauty, making it a dream venue for small weddings.
