Springkell House – wedding venue in Scotland

The new wedding season has started in the most exciting way imaginable, giving me the opportunity to explore a venue that was completely new to me. The elegant and timeless Springkell House, set in the gentle countryside of Dumfries.

As a wedding photographer in Scotland who works on 35mm film, I’m always looking for places with character, and room to breathe. This venue offers exactly that. Surrounded by beautiful grounds and architectural details that feel straight out of a fairytale, Springkell is one of those locations every photographer hopes to shoot at one day. Its mix of well kept gardens and elegant interiors provides the perfect backdrop for relaxed, natural photography.

Hannah wore an effortlessly stylish Martina Liana dress with sleeves for the ceremony, timeless and modern all at once. The weather kept us guessing, shifting between wind, rain and brief moments of clarity. But as always, Scotland delivered its own kind of atmospheric beauty. We managed to sneak outside for portraits, embracing the moody skies.

2026 wedding season

As much as I love travelling around the UK and exploring new venues, I am also looking forward to visiting my  favourite best wedding venues in Edinburgh this season. I am always looking forward to working again at the Timberyard – industrial style restaurant with award winning food or the Botanic Gardens which offers most beautiful setting for an outdoor ceremony.
