Scottish Borders wedding photographer
Harmony House is one of the greatest Scottish Borders wedding venues I discovered last Summer.
I was really looking forward to photographing this wedding in Melrose. Caitlin & Nick have attended a few weddings where I was a wedding photographer – Rosalyn & David’s farm wedding in the Scottish Borders and Ainslie & Craig’s castle wedding at Cluny. It is always great to see familiar faces. Although not everyone invited could attend due to travel restrictions. None of Caitlin’s family from South Africa could travel, but there was good amount of friends from the Scottish Borders.
Preparations took place in bride’s family home in the Borders. One of my favourite places for Getting Ready photos! I just adored the light and how beautifully the house was decorated. Caitlin chose minimalistic dress from Charlie Brear with a cathedral veil while Bridesmaids dresses were taupe colour from Coast. I loved flower girl’s tutu skirt, so lovely.
Harmony House wedding photos
When I first saw Harmony House I was impressed how beautiful this wedding venue is. The couple have originally planned to get married in 2020 and to have wedding ceremony at Melrose Abbey. It was not possible due to restrictions however there was a beautiful view of the abbey from the Harmony House. The couple opted for a ceremony on the steps of the House instead. Caitlin has dreamed of having summer garden party style wedding and while it rained during the ceremony, the day stayed dry after. Guests could enjoy drink and lawn games outside. There were speeches in between courses and watching rugby in the evening.
First dance took place outside – the only thing I am going to miss after lockdown! Outdoor dancing always looks good on wedding photos. I hope to go back to Harmony House one day, such an unique wedding venue in the Scottish Borders.
