Thirlestane Castle, a castle wedding venue in the Scottish Borders
Shelby and Jack, a beautiful American couple currently living in England, totally nailed their dream destination wedding in Scotland. They chose Thirlestane Castle in the Scottish Borders for their epic castle wedding venue, and invited a bunch of guests from the States to join the party.
Thirlestane is a 16th centry castle with lush grounds making it a perfect backdrop for wedding photos. Whether it is a 2 people elopement , or big celebrations with 200 guests, Thirtlestane is a perfect venue for an exclusive use. There is an onsite accommodation available too, and more options in a nearby Lauder.
American wedding in Scotland
The day kicked off with some chill lawn games, setting the vibe just right. Shelby looked like an absolute goddess in her lace dress from Madison James with this cool cape, and Jack and his crew rocked suits with floral ties that fit the whole vibe perfectly. My Thirlestane Castle wedding photos captured them looking like a squad straight out of a magazine against that historic castle backdrop.
Their humanist ceremony was outside on a very warm September day. – the weather was on their side. After they said their vows and tied the know, everyone chilled with drinks outside while guitarists played folk tunes. Perfect for Shelby and Jack, who are all about that country music life.
The night wrapped up in style with a ceilidh in the marquee. Laughs, music, and dancing went down, making it a party to remember. Thirlestane Castle was the bomb backdrop for their love story, blending tradition with the stunning Scottish setting. What a wedding, what a vibe! Certainly one of my favourite weddings last season.
